Dear Friends,
The rivers are high. It’s been too miserable to walk to the bridge, but I hope to take a photo there tomorrow. Maybe it’s not as bad as I think. (I don’t mean there’s any threat — just lots of water.)
The rain made me decide not to drive today — that is, until late afternoon, when Zing and I got cabin fever and headed to Utrecht art store, which we found is out of business — like Utrecht in Tallahassee. So we followed Siri’s advice and went to Hobby Lobby close by. I just wanted some watercolor paper.
Close or not, the drive was confusing, especially in hard rain. Clark would have had some technical term for it — like for when there were existing streets and they added more streets willy-nilly. (Turn left — no, not completely left, just kind of that way — then bear right, and quickly get in the left lane after that.) This morning (afternoon to her) Jennifer and I were discussing how driving is not so easy. I am getting lost over and over until I know the way.
Speaking of how heaven would be — it would be like today, talking intimately with far-away friends, Jennifer and Irene.
Here’s what Zing and I saw a block away from home, at 7 this morning. They are talking about demolishing the old house, which I think has government offices now.
Love,
k
