Dear Friends,
I love Sundays (and Thursdays!), and today was especially rich in people. At the dog park I met an actress, a food manager for the Arena, and an uber driver — all dog lovers. The actress (there’s a theater a block from the dog park) heard me wonder about the helicopter hovering over the river nearby. From my days in Miami, I always think they’re up there observing a crime scene. But no, she said, there’s a dump right here — she pointed to the adjacent property — and she guessed they were lifting big junk out of the river overrun. Indeed, that’s what it looked like, given that then I saw the string hanging down from the sky. The Arena manager told me she’ll be out of a job for three months, after basketball season ends. I had no idea — just thought the venue would keep up with shows and games of some sort all year long. Maybe they’d love to. The uber driver told me Zing looks like some breed of dog that costs $3,500 per puppy. Zing’s ears perked up, and he’s been impossible ever since!
I discovered that early Sunday (before 11) is ideal for driving around. I got lost several different ways, but without the hassle of traffic.
Then, music, drawing, reading, and making cookies. And the sun was out.
Love,
k
Here's the Sacramento River from the Tower Bridge at sunset Friday. You can't see it well, but there are many whirlpools in the stream, and it's moving fast. |
